Continuous Improvement Leader (m/f/d) R&D
Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Evident employs around 4,500 people at a total of 57 locations worldwide. Evident Europe, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, employs approximately 770 people in 16 countries. The product portfolio includes a wide range of microscope systems used in clinical diagnostics, medical and basic research, as well as in various industrial areas. In addition, Evident offers videoscopes, products for non-destructive testing techniques and for X-ray fluorescence analysis.
We are currently looking for an experienced Continuous Improvement Leader (m/f/d) R&D for our team.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize KPIs: Enhance delivery, quality, and productivity using Agile tools at R&D sites in Japan, Germany, and globally with suppliers.
- Champion Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement at Evident R&D through Agile tools like Kaizen, policy deployment, problem-solving, daily stand-ups, visual management, Go-to-Gemba, value stream mapping, and 5S.
- Lead Meetings: Facilitate and lead monthly R&D operations meetings.
- Coach Leaders: Mentor functional leaders in Agile tools to sustain performance improvements and engage their teams.
- Support and Guidance: Provide ongoing support to build knowledge and capability in Agile tools.
- Policy Deployment: Work with the CTO to create and maintain policy deployment frameworks, bowler charts, action plans, and problem-solving processes. Analyze KPIs to develop action plans.
- Deploy Agile Tools: Identify and implement suitable Agile tools and techniques to improve operations.
- Performance Updates: Publish frequent operational performance updates for the CTO and R&D leadership.
- Optimize Programs: Execute optimization programs to improve delivery, quality, and productivity yearly using Agile tools.
- Reporting: Reports to the CTO and has a dotted line to the Chief Transformation Officer.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business or engineering (preferred).
- Experience: 6+ years in continuous improvement, innovation, strategy, process management, or project management.
- Skills and Certifications:
- Hands-on experience in implementing and leading Continuous Improvement programs.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, DBS or similar methodologies, preferably with certifications.
- Proven coaching and influencing abilities across organizational boundaries.
- Proven management experience with a track record of delivering results.
- Strong writing, presentation, and MS Office skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Language: Fluent in English; Japanese language skills are very beneficial.
- Additional Experience: Regulatory or medical device experience is a plus.
